People’s Development Forum (PDF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving marginalized people throughout Tanzania and South Sudan. Founded in 2010 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and later on incorporated in South Sudan in 2015, PDF has implemented programming centered on health promotion (Prevention, care and treatments), Nutrition, water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Human Rights, Democracy and good Governance, Child Protection, Legal, Social and economic empowerment, Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security. PDF operates seven field offices across Tanzania and opened its South Sudan office in order to contribute into livelihood improvements of internally displaced persons and other marginalized communities in the post-conflict context.

Capacity Building

PDF empowers communities and grassroots institutions in the areas of leadership, governance, specialized skills, monitoring, evaluation, and management. Empowered communities assume responsibility for managing and predicting their own needs, take responsibility for their own development, and hold their leaders and service providers accountable.

Service Delivery

PDF improves the livelihood of marginalized people by providing direct services to institutions and communities. Services have included infrastructure development for Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), HIV and hepatitis viral counseling and testing, home-based care, legal aid, and referral services for abused children to justice institutions.

PDF this is an inclusive and participatory actions that engages policy leaders, decision makers, community members and other stakeholders to work towards a common goal or policy.
